If this is the first time you’re installing Office you may have some setup steps to do first. Expand the learn more section below. For example depending on your version of Windows, select Start and then scroll to find the app you want to open such as Excel or Word, or type the name of the app in the search box. If you’re unable to install Office see Troubleshoot installing Office for more help. Start using an Office application right away by opening any app such as Word or Excel. Can’t find Office after installing?

In most cases, Office is activated once you start an application and after you agree to the License terms by selecting Accept. Office might activate automatically. However, depending on your product you might see the Microsoft Office Activation Wizard. If so, follow the prompts to activate Office. If you need activation help, see Activate Office.

Upgrade to Microsoft to work anywhere from any device and continue to receive support. If you’re stuck at the Verifying…. On the first installation screen, select Continue to begin the installation process. Review the software license agreement, and then click Continue. Select Agree to agree to the terms of the software license agreement. Review the disk space requirements or change your install location, and then click Install. Note: If you want to only install specific Office apps and not the entire suite, click the Customize button and uncheck the programs you don’t want.

Enter your Mac login password, if prompted, and then click Install Software. This is the password that you use to log in to your Mac. The software begins to install. Click Close when the installation is finished.

If Office installation fails, see What to try if you can’t install or activate Office for Mac. Click the Launchpad icon in the Dock to display all of your apps.

The What’s New window opens automatically when you launch Word. Click Get Started to start activating. If you need help activating Office, see Activate Office for Mac. However, we recommend that you uninstall Office for Mac before you install the new version just to prevent any confusion.

Moreover, the graphics are such poor quality that it makes them difficult to read, much less reproduce for practice. Also, some of the sections are just poorly written and hard to understand, for example the chapter on Templates.

That being said, the book contains lots of information and would be a great resource to someone who already has a basic grasp of the programs and wants to learn a new feature. However, I would not call this a book for Dummies as it is not easy to comprehend. I returned this book. There were very few screen shots.

The instructions would say to click some area which I usually could not find. I did not find the book helpful at all. Maybe I missed something that clarified when it says “10 Books in 1” that it’s not actually ALL of the 10 books it says it covered.

I bought this mainly because I thought it would be the full books of say Excel or Outlook for Dummies as I needed the in depth more advanced options but this is very minimal in these areas. In Excel, for example, the most microsoft office 2016 for dummies free download thing it goes into is Pivot Tables; I know how to do pivot tables but was looking for the macros and VBA items that were in the actual Microsoft office 2016 for dummies free download for Dummies – this doesn’t include any of that.

Very disappointed in that I’m now going to have to get separate books for the areas I really need help with.
