Spent over an hour on the phone with 2 people on the other side of the world that I couldn’t understand for the life of me. But they were very persistent to remote into my PC I built a new PC, the old one was activated and going no problems. Old pc is gone now. I have never received a product key from microsoft.
Why do they need to remote into my PC if I have all the information account credentials, Order number to prove I purchased this. I have been building pc’s for decades and have never had this happen.

I’m sorry they didn’t explain to you on the phone that there is no Product Key for WIndows licenses bought in the Microsoft Store online.
These are DIgital Licenses that are activated from the Store app itself. As long as the license is retail like yours and not factory preinstalled or builder’s OEM, then it can transfer since Upgrade inherits the rights and restrictions. It is possible to do yourself if you’d previously signed in with your Microsoft account and it linked to the Digital License as shown in Status at top of the Activation Settings page.
Then when you change motherboard, you’d sign in again and run the Troubleshooter. We recently learned it will even make an exception for OEM if all else is proper. So that’s your best bet.
