This issue started with me going into my settings attempting to turn off windows defender due to a game I wanted to try.

I noticed that this first came up. I could not access the windows defender through settings. I also found that I had missing options in settings.

I would go into the search bar and search “account” or any other of the missing settings and would generally find the tab but when I would click it, it does nothing and returns to the original windows settings tab. I thought that this would be a administrative issue with my account and stuff so I went into windows run and type lusrmgr.

It showed that my local and my main user was part of administrators. I also went into control panel to see my accounts. I do not know what else to do. Was this reply helpful? I went and downloaded the media creation tool and ran it.

In reply to Time Lady’s post on May 24, Hello, I am currently on version I followed your instruction and found that windows discovered corrupt files and repaired them but it didn’t seem to fix the main issue. It did not fix it though and it is still the same issue Thank you for your services, I will just attempt to reinstall windows again someday. Do you have Windows 10 Pro? If so have you changed any settings under Group Policy?

Have you changed any registry settings? Have you ever had malware on your system? Have you tried deleting the registry entry forWindows defender then rebooting? If you try this ensure you back up the registry first. Windows version will be released this week hopefully so you should await this to see if it corrects the problem, if not then you can clean install this version.

I do not know why the upgrade from to blocked viewing the Update option. We did not change the Group Policy to disable the option. That is the settings were Not Configured before being disabled.
